Representatives of the organizing committee met with new Prime Minister , the Honorable Orette Bruce Golding on Friday, February 8, 2008 at Jamaica House. Co-Chair Dr. Stefan Hemmings ably guided the presentation with the support of Mr. Kevin Henry (co-chair, JAMSA president) and Ms. Anika Mitchell (member of the organizing committee). The panel which also included the Minister of Health and the Environment the Honorable Mr. Rudyard Spencer, listened keenly and appeared to be impressed by the work of the Committee and JAMSA. Mr. Golding pledged another $JMD 5 million dollars to the hosting to the conference and Mr. Spencer who seemed equally exited about the conference also promised to increase the sponsorship being offered by the Ministry of Heal and the Environment. All in all it was a most successful hour!
