This
is the subcommittee that takes care of all of
your information technology and telecommunication
needs throughout the duration of the conference.
While at the Pre GA,
two internet cafes would be available to the delegates. One
will be at the Rex Nettleford Hall where the delegates
would be housed and the other at the University
Hospital West Indies where the workshops and sessions
will be held. They will be open 24 hrs. Printing
and copying services would also be offered at
these locations.
While at the GA, delegates
will have access to a 24 hour internet café in
the pre function room of the Portland Suite. Wireless
access would also be provided in the immediate
areas surrounding the internet café. For those
requiring more range, network cards will be sold
at a cost. This is provided by Cable & Wireless.
This lovely website,
has been designed, and updated by the members
of this subcommittee. The registration software
as well, has been engineered by the subcommittee.
Ecommerce is being offered on the website. Through
consultation with the Mona Information Technology
Services (MITS) this was all possible.
Workshop and Plenary
rooms will be equipped with projectors, screens
and public announcement systems for ease of information
exchange.
A closed user group
of telephones would be provided at a deposit of
JMD for presidents and EB, these phones can be
used to reach the OC, EB and presidents of each
NMO. Credit will be sold to make calls outside
of this closed user group (locally and internationally).
Other delegates can purchase local phones and
SIM cards to make calls to avoid expensive roaming
charges. All courtesy of Cable & Wireless.
The IFMSA is an international
organization, with members speaking a plethora
of languages. Something special in the way of
translatotion is in the pipeline to make information
exchange even easier than before. More details
to come…
To drastically reduce
the time taken to vote in our plenaries, a secure
software would be used and a network would be
set up specifically for NMO presidents to vote.
