This is the subcommittee that takes care of all of your information technology and telecommunication needs throughout the duration of the conference.

Internet Services

While at the Pre GA, two internet cafes would be available to the delegates.One will be at the Rex Nettleford Hall where the delegates would be housed and the other at the University Hospital West Indies where the workshops and sessions will be held. They will be open 24 hrs. Printing and copying services would also be offered at these locations.

While at the GA, delegates will have access to a 24 hour internet café in the pre function room of the Portland Suite. Wireless access would also be provided in the immediate areas surrounding the internet café. For those requiring more range, network cards will be sold at a cost. This is provided by Cable & Wireless.

Website

This lovely website, has been designed, and updated by the members of this subcommittee. The registration software as well, has been engineered by the subcommittee. Ecommerce is being offered on the website. Through consultation with the Mona Information Technology Services (MITS) this was all possible.

AudioVisual

Workshop and Plenary rooms will be equipped with projectors, screens and public announcement systems for ease of information exchange.

Communication

A closed user group of telephones would be provided at a deposit of JMD for presidents and EB, these phones can be used to reach the OC, EB and presidents of each NMO. Credit will be sold to make calls outside of this closed user group (locally and internationally). Other delegates can purchase local phones and SIM cards to make calls to avoid expensive roaming charges. All courtesy of Cable & Wireless.

Interpretation

The IFMSA is an international organization, with members speaking a plethora of languages. Something special in the way of translatotion is in the pipeline to make information exchange even easier than before. More details to come…

Voting Software

To drastically reduce the time taken to vote in our plenaries, a secure software would be used and a network would be set up specifically for NMO presidents to vote.
